Agrigento, meeting between Schifani and Nobile: "The Region is paying maximum attention to the water issue."

This morning at Palazzo d'Orléans in Palermo, a meeting took place between the President of the Sicilian Region, Renato Schifani, and the President of the Board of Directors of AICA, the Agrigento Municipal Water Company, Danila Nobile.
The summit focused on the difficulties the company is experiencing and the possible solutions that can be implemented with the support of the regional government.
"I immediately accepted Nobile's request for a meeting," Schifani stated, "because we are aware of the challenging times and because the Region is committed to supporting the Agrigento area. My offices are studying a viable and sustainable technical and financial solution that meets the needs of both the mayors and the company."
The regional president recalled the measures already implemented by the executive: "My government's level of attention to the water issue in Agrigento remains high, as demonstrated, among other things, by the advance payment of ten million euros we have allocated to begin work on the capital's water network and the commissioning of the Porto Empedocle desalination plant."
The meeting was also attended by Salvatore Sammartano, Chief of Staff of the Presidency of the Region; Ignazio Tozzo, the Regional Accountant General; and Salvo Cocina, Coordinator of the Control Room for the Water Emergency in Sicily and Head of the Regional Civil Protection Department.
